* of school experience,
a trainee teacher's perspective.
this week marks the end of my 'school experience',
and i have to admit, despite merely observing classes and the countless lamenting of 'free periods' on my part, the experience in entirety was simply gorgeous.
i wish dad was here. but shh, lets not dwell on that.
070709-100709
one week primary school, nbps.
(i shall pester ZH for photos, soon.! haha.)
120709-170709
one week secondary school, opss.
(photos with credits to efficient mr Q's cybershot hp. haha.)

* my loveeely company.! lovelove.
for memory's sake,
ms mardhiah, ms victoria lee, ms michelle qwok, mr elson quek, and ms michelle tiah.
such wonderful teachers-to-be.

* ladies only, the only guy emo behind camera, haha.
ouwh-so-much stories to tell. but what's two weeks in an entry.
i just know,
i'm ever more determined that i've made the right choice.
ya Allah,
shed me light and guidance through this path i'm travelling.
keep me focus to my cause,
and give me your blessings. amin ya Rabbal'alamin.
for this opportunity to experience,
and the many more to come,
alhamdulillah, alhamdulillah, alhamdulillah syukur.
MuchLove,
*Muniii.
p/s: i just cant stop wishing dad was here. astargfirullah hal'azim.

* and three months down...
my wiseoldman was a wonderful person.
and i am a blessed child.
for i had the greatest opportunity to dig his wisdom, while we still had him around.
we used to converse long hours, daily,
at home before and after school, even on the way to school.
sometimes about people, both good and bad.
sometimes about biology, 'my prof said' versus 'my 4 decade experience', haha.
mostly i enjoyed his perspectives about Islam, about life, and stuffs in general.
he would talk, while i listened.
and when i talked, he would listen.
he was a great talker, im sure everyone is familiar with.
but he was also a superb listener, superb. mummylove would know.
he was always compelled to debate my bio-related propositions, i guess we both enjoyed such intellectual conversations.
but i rmb having a rush of emotions, good ones, when i once popped a notion popularly claimed by Mrs.Bio in Evo lectures,
'females being the superior species'.
it probably takes greatness for a man to subdue his male ego.
for my wiseoldman did not debate this time. he told me of his acceptance.
and he showed me how.
how indeed, we are superior.
yet, he made me understand why an 'XY' is to assume as family head.
he taught me of rights, in Islam, that liberate women, and those that exist to protect us.
he used to wake his daughters some sunday mornings, just so we'd help mummy in the busy kitchen.
and we'd find his sons already helping.
he used to speak of how he'd equip his sons with driving licenses, so they'd be prepared for life.
and then he equipped his daughter too- just because he wanted to be fair.
and indeed, my wiseoldman was fair.
he did not discriminate us for the gender we were born into.
but he made us understand, the inherent roles of each gender.
one thing's significant, he dont breed male chauvenist at home.
he sent us to secular schools, but nurtured us a Muslim.
a Muslim beyond mere status or religious classes,
a Muslim in action and at heart.
he gave me education, so i wont be suppressed.
and he too gave me values, so i wont oppress.
i dare swear, my wiseoldman did perfect as a father.
and so for that,
ya Allah ya tuhanku,
ampunilah segala dosa-dosanya, dan berikannya tempat di syurgaMu- di samping para nabi, rasul, dan sahabat.
amin, ya Rabbal'alamin.
--------------------
but i can imagine it'd be hard when we have lousy ones.
take that.
digest that.
and work on that.
it's not within the lines.
we can be better. everyone can.
insya'allah. =)
